COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The NJCAA Softball Players of the Week for the final week in March are here. For Division 1 the player of the week is
Brittany Kent of Seward County Community College (Kan.) and the pitcher of the week is
Shaylee Yellowhair from Arizona Western College. The Division 2 player of the week is
Molly Link from Kirkwood Community College (Iowa) while the pitcher of the week is
Christina Bradley of Iowa Central Community College. The Division 3 player of the week is
Tracy Stern from Brookdale Community College (N.J.) and the pitcher of the week is
Bri Allen of Monroe Community College (N.Y.).
Link and the Eagles of Kirkwood Community College had a busy week going 7-2 on the week. On March 23, in a double-header with Southwestern CC (Iowa), Link went a combined 5-for-6 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. On March 24, against John Wood CC (Ill.), the sophomore went 1-for-3 with one run, and one double. The next day, in a double-header against North Iowa Area CC, the second baseman went 2-for-6 with three runs, one RBI and two stolen bases. On March 27, against No. 6 Iowa Central CC, Link shined going 6-for-8 with five runs, two doubles, two home runs, and five RBI. The Next day, in another double-header against Iowa Lakes CC, she went 2-for-6 with one home run, two RBI, and two walks. In a fantastic week, Link hit .552 (16-29) with 12 runs, six doubles, three home runs, 10 RBI, two walks, and two stolen bases.
