DES MOINES, Iowa -- Mount Mercy engineered a comeback win on Saturday, rebounding from a seven-point halftime deficit, then holding on late for an 84-82 victory over AIB in Midwest Collegiate Conference men's basketball at AIB Activities Center.
 
Both teams shot the ball well, especially in the first period. The Eagles (2-17, 1-6 MCC) were 61.3 percent from the floor while building their halftime edge, while the Mustangs (13-5, 4-3 MCC) weren't far behind at 57.1 percent. The hot shooting continued after the break, but Mount Mercy was able to take the lead for good with 2:20 remaining and forced three late turnovers by AIB to clinch its second straight win.

Junior forward Alex Coleman's 16 points led five Mustangs in double figures. Senior guard David Campbell had 15 points, junior guard Markus Cocroft and junior forward Chad Underwood 14 apiece and senior forward Sam Kenyi chipped in 12 points. Coleman finished with six rebounds, Cocroft dished out five assists and had three steals.

Logan Hamm scored a game-high 17 points for the Eagles. Brandon Eley tallied 16 points, Ryley Pruismann 13 and Tim Olejniczak 11. Eley and Pruismann each grabbed five rebounds and Hamm had seven assists.
