The basketball games against Southwestern, scheduled for Saturday, February 4th in Johnson Hall have been cancelled. The women's game will be held on Monday, February 6th in Johnson Hall at 5:30 and the men's game will follow at 7:30.

Head baseball coach Tim Evans and his coaching staff are pleased to announce the signing of four players. These players have committed to play for the Eagles starting in the fall of 2012 and all hail from the state of Iowa.

CEDAR RAPIDS - Kirkwood turned back Ellsworth, 71-49, Wednesday night at Johnson Hall in Cedar Rapids for its 15th straight victory, pulling away with a 16-0 run in the second half after Ellsworth had closed to within a point.

The Eagles (17-2, 7-0 ICCAC) got 15 points from Teasha Harris and 11 apiece from Bianca Dufelmeier and Kate Hartman.

Former Cedar Rapids Jefferson player Britteny Steffeny grabbed nine rebounds for Ellsworth (14-6, 3-3).

The sixth-ranked Eagles, who knocked off third-ranked Iowa Central last week, travel to Marshalltown for a conference game Saturday.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Mount Mercy engineered a comeback win on Saturday, rebounding from a seven-point halftime deficit, then holding on late for an 84-82 victory over AIB in Midwest Collegiate Conference men's basketball at AIB Activities Center.

#2 ranked Iowa Central had no answer for the Eagles as they soared by with a win in Fort Dodge Saturday afternoon 78-63. Mika Rodewald(Iowa Central) who averages 18ppg went 0-6 due to our posts steller defense. Kirkwood shot 48% from the 3-point line; Teasha Harris 4, Bianca Dufelmeier 4, and Aisle Quinlan with 3.
The Eagles were lead by Bianca with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Teasha followed with 18 points, 5 assists and 9 rebounds.

Wednesday night is another theme night. Dress in "Camo" and cheer on the Eagles as they take on Ellsworth at 5:30pm.

The Kirkwood baseball coaching staff will be offering an "All Skills Youth Baseball Camp" on Saturday, January 28 from 9am-12pm for ages 8-13; check-in will start at 8:30am. The camp will take place at the Michael J. Gould Kirkwood Recreation Center, located on the northwest side of the main campus.

MASON CITY - Maybe the only thing the NIACC men's basketball got a good look at Saturday was just how good Kirkwood's defense is.

Struggling to get quality looks all day, NIACC was held to 28 percent shooting and 15 percent behind the 3-point arc by the No. 3 Eagles defense in a 67-47 loss Saturday afternoon.

Kirkwood improved to (4-0, 14-2) with a 62-53 victory over NIACC (2-1, 10-7) at Mason City.

The Eagles trailed 21-11 before finishing the first half on a 18-6 run to lead
29-27 at halftime.

... Kirkwood jumped to it's biggest lead at 50-34 before NIACC closed the lead to nine at the end.

Kate Hartman (Northwood, Iowa) led the Eagles with 15 points. Kianna Jacobs (Milwaukee, WI) added 11.

Jacobs and Teasha Harris (Bloomington, IL) each grabbed nine rebounds. Harris added five assists.

[Men's Basketball] Former Eagles's Williams and Cougill face-off in Horizon league

MILWAUKEE - Kaylon Williams hit a three-pointer from the left wing as time expired to send the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to a thrilling 64-63 win over Green Bay Saturday night at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

The Panthers inbounded the ball from under the basket with 1.1 seconds remaining, which was just enough time for Paris Gulley to find Williams for the game-winner.

UWM (11-6, 4-1 Horizon) ended the game on a 7-0 run to claim the win after Green Bay had forged a six-point lead with a 10-0 run of its own.

The Lindenwood men's basketball team got 72 points out of its starting lineup and rolled to its 12^th straight win on Tuesday night. The Lions beat Mid-Continent 89-75 in Mayfield, Ky.

With the game tied at 11 and just over 10 minutes to play in the opening half, the Lions went on a 10-1 run and never looked back. Lindenwood never gave the lead up and Mid-Continent could only get as close as three points the rest of the way

The Parkland Men's Basketball team opened the second half of their season with a challenging road game at #3 Kirkwood on Saturday in Cedar Rapids, IA, grabbing an early lead before falling 61-56. The game would turn out to be a defensive grind and would go down to the wire with both teams having control at different times. The Cobras started off the game with an impressive lob dunk to Tiger ONeil with the assist coming from Shaq Lowery to set the tone for the game. The lead would change hands a few times in the first half, but the Cobras found themselves up 27-25 at half.

The Kirkwood men's basketball schedule has been effected by the cancellation of the Southeastern men's basketball season. Consequently, the games that were originally scheduled at Burlington this weekend had to be re-scheduled. The opponents for those two games have agreed to come to Kirkwood: Kennedy King will play Kirkwood at 6:00, in Johnson Hall, on Friday, January 6. Parkland College will be coming to Johnson Hall on Saturday, January 7, for a 3:00 game.

VALPARAISO, Ind. - Kaylon Williams hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 48 seconds remaining and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee played stingy defense to claim a 57-55 win over Valparaiso Thursday night at the Athletics Recreation Center.

The Panthers (10-4, 3-0 Horizon) trailed much of the game before building a five-point lead with six minutes to play. After the Crusaders (8-6, 1-1) reclaimed a 53-52 lead with 1:24 left, Williams countered with a three from the wing that bounced around the rim before falling through. Ryan Allen then added two free throws to help Milwaukee hang on for its 12th-straight regular season league victory.
