Cedar Rapids -- The Kirkwood Volleyball team used a 13-kill, .571 hitting performance by sophomore outside hitter Chanda Goedken to down Southeastern, 3-0 (25-22, 25-7, 25-13), Saturday afternoon in the first match of the day for the Eagles. Then freshmen Morgan Guge and JoAnna Forkner stepped things up and led the team in a sweep over host team Mt Mercy JV 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-20).

MARSHALLTOWN - The Kirkwood volleyball team won their fifth straight match Wednesday night with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-17) sweep over the Marshalltown Tigers in a non-conference match-up.

Sophomore Kaylee Schulte had a solid night as she led the Eagles in kills with 9 and added a pair of blocks. Sophomore Chanda Goedken recorded 8 kills and 7 digs while sophomore libero, Amber Pitz had 10 digs and freshman Morgan Guge (J.F. Kennedy) added 3 kills and 11 digs.

[Volleyball] Volleyball to Open 2010 Play on the Road

The Kirkwood Eagles volleyball team will open the 2010 season this weekend on the road at the Southeastern Volleyball Jamboree in Burlington. The Eagles will take on Prairie State in the opening match of the tournament at 1pm and then will play North Lake in the 5:oo match on Friday. Saturday morning Kirkwood will face Kansas City at 11am and then will play in the tournament final match vs. Lincoln College at 3pm.

[Kirkwood] Former Eagle accepts ESPY

On July 14th, Ali Farokhmanesh was in Los Angeles to accept an ESPY. Along with UNI coach, Ben Jacobson and teammate, Adam Koch, the Panthers were awarded the ESPY for the "Best Upset". The award was based on their victory over Kansas in the NCAA basketball tournament in March.
