The Kirkwood men's basketball program will host it's annual Boy's basketball camp this summer June 12th - 15th.

Boys entering grades 3 - 8: Will get solid basketball fundamentals and the tools to improve your game from some of the area's best coaches. Kirkwood's new state-of-the-art facilities set the stage for positive, fun learning that will last a lifetime. Participation is limited -

[Baseball] Baseball Does it Again in the Classroom

For the second semester in a row, the Kirkwood baseball team finishes the semester with an overall team GPA above a 3.0. Barely pushing past the team goal, the Eagles baseball squad finished with a 3.001 team GPA. Seven players finished with a GPA above a 3.5. During the fall semester, the baseball team finished with a 3.3 team GPA.

Doug Wagemester announced today that Jalen Currie of Milwaukee Riverside and Najeal McMillian of West Allis Central have signed to become a part of the Eagles Roster for the 2012-2013 season.

Jalen Currie, a 6'5 wing was an All-city league player averging 14 points per game and selected to play in the Wisconsin All-star game.

Butler averaged 16.7 points, 4.8 assists and 2 steals for Davenport Central this season. Wagemester anticipates a good battle at point guard between Olson ( CR Jefferson) and Butler, saying he plans to use both of them.

Taylor Olson considered going to college in Maryland, Missouri, South Dakota or Idaho, but he's decided to stay home and play basketball in his home town next season.

Olson said Friday that he's committed to Kirkwood Community College and will join the Eagles as a point guard for the 2012-13 campaign.

SIOUX CITY -- Sioux City East guard J.C. Fuller has committed to play basketball at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Fuller, a 6-foot-3 guard, averaged 17.5 points per game to lead a Black Raider squad that finished 21-4 and lost to Iowa City West in the Class 4A state championship game. Fuller also shot 49-percent from 3-point range.

An unsteady finish to the Kirkwood Mens Golf Team's round Saturday led them to a 6th place finish at the 19 team Buena Vista Invitational held at Lake Creek Country Club. In contention all day, the Eagles stumbled the final four holes playing them 9 over par and shooting a team score of 307 following a 305 on day 1.

The Kirkwood Men's Golf Team showed its balance and depth as they took to the links at the Iowa Central Invitational Tuesday at Fort Dodge Country Club. Balance was the key as all five players scored between 72-74 in the 18 hole event.

The Kirkwood Mens Golf Team played through some tough conditions to win the 19 team Wartburg Invitational held at Centennial Oaks Golf Course this past weekend and improve their overall record to 41-5. Sean Cleary (Tipperary, Ireland) and Kirby Brown (West Des Moines Valley) led a balanced attack by finishing 7th and 8th individually respectively out of a field of 103 golfers.

The home doubleheader that was originally scheduled for this Friday vs. Muscatine Commnuity College has been moved up a day. Kirkwood will play Muscatine today at home with a first pitch scheduled for 2pm. Kirkwood completes their string of home games as they compete against Iowa Central Community College in a 4-game series this Saturday and Sunday. First pitch on Saturday is at 2pm while Sundays first pitch is set for 12pm.

City High Senior Sierra Chambers signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career at perennial powerhouse Kirkwood Community College. Sierra averaged 13.6 points and 8 rebounds per game her senior season while shooting a sizzling 54.6 percent from the field. As a senior, Sierra was selected Second Team All Conference, First Team All District, First Team All Region, and the

IGBCA named Sierra Second Team All State. Sierra recently played in the 3A/4A senior select basketball game at Mount Mercy College.

These girls are considered the top senior basketball players in the state. Sierra was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the game.

Kirkwood baseball player, Dairo Gonzalez, was named NJCAA Division II National Player of the week. The graduate from John I. Leonard High School in Miami, FL and eagle third baseman finished the week hitting .512 (21-41). Dairo recorded 6 doubles, 1 triple, 5 homeruns, 21 RBI's and 10 runs scored. Dairo had 9 RBI's and 2 homeruns in a loss to #4 ranked Iowa Western CC.

After a stellar season with an overall record of 27-5 and 13-1 in conference, five Kirkwood men's basketball players were honored for their accomplishments this year. Led by Mike Weber's All-american nomination four others were also recognized for the accomplishments.
