METROSPORTSREPORT.COM- CEDAR RAPIDS, IA-- The Kirkwood Community College baseball team will be bolstered this season by the addition of three transfers from NCAA Division I schools. Brock Neuhaus of Pleasant Valley has transferred to Kirkwood from Kansas State, Jack Fitzgerald of Mason City Newman has moved here from Creighton, and Michael Haring of Iowa City High has joined the Eagles from the University of Iowa.

All three players are true freshmen who spent one semester at their colleges. All three of them will be eligible for Kirkwood this year. Neuhaus and Haring are pitchers. Fitzgerald is a middle infielder. Kirkwood Coach Todd Rima, entering his third year, was delighted to add three talented players to his squad.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA-- Kirkwood Baseball released its 2015 spring schedule on Friday, and the Eagles will open the season February 13th in Overland, Kansas. Kirkwood will play a four-game series against Johnson County Community College. The Eagles will travel to St. Louis, Missouri and Belleville, Illinois on February 28th to play St. Louis Community College and Southwestern Illinois Community College. From March 13th-17th, Kirkwood will take their annual spring trip to Vero Beach, Florida and play 8 games in Historic Dodgertown.

The Eagles open up ICCAC play, and have their first home game, on March 21st against Des Moines Area Community College. The Eagles finished last season with an overall record of 30-19.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA-- The series was in the favor of the Blue Team, two games to one, in the best-of-five series. The Black Team struck first with a 2 RBI single by Brandon Brittain in the first inning. The Blue Team responded immediately with a three run bottom of the first inning with RBI's by Hayden Sloane and Luke Hassman. The Blue Team never looked back from here winning 5-3 and clinching the series three games to one. They are rewarded with bragging rights until the 2015 Fall World Series.

Emanuel Castellano recieved his second win of the series with a lights out performance. He gave up two runs on six hits in six and two thirds. Adam Marra gave up no runs while giving up no hits and recieved the save. Hayden Sloane went two for three and drove in three runs.
