CEDAR RAPIDS, IA- The Kirkwood Softball program will host its annual winter softball camp. The camp will be held on December 28th, 2014 and consists of six sessions. The sessions are as followed- Session I: Hitting/Offense, Session II: Defense, Session III: Pitching, Session IV: Pitching, Session V: Catching, Session VI: Catching. The camp will run from 9:00am (Session I) to 5:00pm (Session VI). All campers will recieve a free Kirkwood Softball T-Shirt upon arrival.

The camp will offer indepth instruction from several coaches from around the country including Kirkwood Softball Head Coach Joe Yegge, Kylee Knop (Kirkwood), Jenny Nelson (Kirkwood), Randy Schneider (Wisconsin Associate Head Coach), Matt Egger (University of Northern Iowa Assistant Coach), Julie Gerdes (University of Northern Iowa Assistant Coach), Bre Milnes (Metropolitan State Assistant Coach), Sam Sheeley (Wichita State Assistant Coach), Mike Bosch (Syracuse Assistant Coach) and some of the programs current and former All-Americans.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA- Kirkwood Softball sophomores Alex Finn and Lexi Quandt have signed their letter-of-intent to play for Saint Ambrose University. Both Finn and Quandt are from Davenport, Iowa and after playing under Head Coach Joe Yegge for two years they head back home to help the Fighting Bees.

Last year, Finn and Quandt helped the Eagles go 52-8 (22-2 ICCAC) and earn a #4 final NJCAA ranking. Finn hit .387 last season with a .523 on-base percentage and 7 stolen bases. Quandt hit .325 with 10 doubles and 6 stolen bases. Kirkwood Softball's 2015 Spring Schedule can be viewed here.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA-- Kirkwood softball released its 2015 softball schedule on Friday, and the Eagles will open the season February 21st in Davenport, Iowa. Kirkwood will also play in tournaments in Rochester, Minnesota (Feb. 27th), and Rosemont, Minnesota (March 5-6th). The Eagles open up ICCAC play, and have their first home game, on March 21st against Iowa Lakes Community College.

Kirkwood Softball has been a national powerhouse in recent years. They finished the 2011/12 season with a 43-13 record (20-8 ICCAC) and ranked 9th in the final NJCAA Top 20 Poll. The 2012/13 season featured a 55-3 Kirkwood team (28-0 ICCAC) that was ranked 3rd in the final NJCAA Top 20 Poll. Last year, the 2013/14 Eagles finished the season with a 52-8 record (22-2 ICCAC) and ranked 4th in the final NJCAA Top 20 Poll.
