Arran Weeces is beginning her first season as an assistant coach with the Kirkwood Community College softball team in 2019-2020.

A May 2016 graduate of Coe College, Weeces served as pitching coach for two seasons at Saint Louis University and has served as an assistant softball coach at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School since 2015. She has been a private pitching instructor since 2012.

A native of Solon, Iowa, Weeces made 70 appearances and 56 starts in the circle during her four-year career at Coe. She compiled a 36-17 record, a 2.27 earned run average, 13 shutouts, and 386 strikeouts in 354.2 innings.

Weeces helped the Kohawks post a 36-10 record, capture the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title and earn an NCAA Division III Championship berth in 2014. The previous year, Coe went 34-8, tied for the IIAC regular-season crown and qualified for the NCAA tournament.

Weeces earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and has a minor in Spanish from Coe. She received a master’s degree in higher education from Saint Louis University.
