#2 Eagles Win Season Opener at Mustang Fall Classic
Marion, IA – The Kirkwood Community College men's golf team teed off its fall season in style, capturing first place at the Mustang Fall Classic at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. The Eagles turned in a team score of two-over par across two rounds, finishing six shots clear of second-place Mount Mercy.
Freshman Isaiah Zoske wasted no time making his mark at the collegiate level, earning individual medalist honors in his debut tournament. Zoske fired rounds of 71 (-1) and 70 (-2) for a two-day total of 141 (-3), topping the field by three strokes.
Kirkwood also got strong performances throughout the lineup. Ted Sargeant delivered back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 to finish in a tie for second. Jack Gomez opened with a sizzling 69 (-3) and placed 5th overall, while Reid Hall turned in rounds of 75–73 to tie for 8th.
With four Eagles in the top 10, the team's depth was on full display and proved decisive in pulling away from the competition.
Kirkwood now turns its attention to the NJCAA Fall Preview, set for September 2–3 at Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, where the Eagles will test themselves against some of the nation's best programs.
