Softball Names 10 to All-Region Teams
From the ICCAC Website: "The 2025 Region 11 Division II Softball season came to a close with the announcement of the All-Region Teams, recognizing standout athletes from across the conference. Among the honorees, five individuals received special accolades for their exceptional contributions throughout the season.
DMACC infielder Macee Reiling was named Offensive Player of the Year, capping off a dominant campaign in which she posted a blistering .500 batting average—good for second in the region—and led all players with a staggering .878 slugging percentage. Reiling ranked third in hits (90), third in RBIs (81), and second in doubles (30), while also recording 12 home runs and leading the conference in multiple key offensive categories. Her production at the plate made her a consistent threat in every at-bat, a force that anchored DMACC's offensive success.
Iowa Central's Kaylee Cary was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year, a testament to her reliability, athleticism, and leadership on the field. Cary, the team's shortstop, had a .960 fielding percentage tallying 91 assists and just seven errors. She also recorded 75 putouts.
DMACC pitcher Kierra Jungers earned Co-Pitcher of the Year honors after an outstanding freshman season in the circle. Jungers went 24-1 in 26 starts, boasting a 1.45 ERA and a WHIP of just 0.93 over 125.1 innings pitched. She racked up 208 strikeouts while limiting opposing offenses to 77 hits and only 26 earned runs all year.
Sharing Pitcher of the Year honors is Kirkwood's Peyton Paulsen, who also won 24 games while starting all 28 of her appearances. Paulsen compiled 144 strikeouts over 163 innings, ranking among the region's top five in wins, complete games (18), and shutouts (6). She finished with a 1.80 ERA and held opponents to a .176 batting average, proving herself to be a dominant presence on the mound.
Coach of the Year honors went to Bo Tjebben of Iowa Central, who guided his team to a second place finish in the standings, joining only the 2023 NIACC Trojans as the only two teams not named DMACC or Kirkwood since at least 2013 to finish first or second. The Tritons went 22-6 in conference play, their first time since the spring 2021 season when they played 42 conference games, winning 24 of them
The rest of the All-Region First Team was loaded with talent across the board, including a heavy representation from DMACC. Joining Reiling and Jungers were catcher Josie McCuddin, infielder Ella Husak, outfielders Breanna Caffery and Bri Tigges, and pitcher Jacki Baas. Infielder Erin Ades also earned First Team honors as an at-large selection, giving DMACC a conference-best seven total honorees.
Kirkwood followed closely behind with a strong group of standouts, led by Paulsen. She was joined on the First Team by catcher Mischa Reiners, designated player Shannon Finn, infielder Kiya Johnson, and outfielders Brenna Ross and Peyton Johnson—giving the Eagles a total of six First Team selections.
Iowa Central was represented by infielder Breanna Nolte and utility standout Jayda Long, with Long earning her spot for her versatility and impact in multiple roles.
Taylor Larson of Iowa Lakes also earned First Team recognition for her steady play in the infield. Rounding out the list was Izzy Sloan of NIACC, who made the team as a utility player thanks to her all-around contributions for the Trojans."
