Bradford named NJCAA DII Second Team All-American

NJCAA All-Americans Announced for Women's Basketball

NJCAA Women's Basketball All-Americans were announced on Tuesday, with three ICCAC players placed on the first two teams in 2019-20.

Autam Mendez of NIACC headlined the selections as the lone First Team selection. Mendez, who helped lead the Trojans to their second consecutive Region XI Championship and the No. 1 overall seed of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

The ICCAC Player of the Year finished the season averaging 16.9 points per game for the sixth highest-scoring offense in the country. She also averaged 8.4 rebounds and was a top-15 three-point shooter in the country. She ended the season with 81 made threes. She tallied 11 made threes when she scored career-best 48 points against Little Priest on Feb. 26.

Mendez was joined by her teammate, Sierra Morrow. Morrow, a Second Team honoree, had similar numbers to Mendez as she scored 15.6 points and pulled down eight rebounds per game. As the ICCAC Defensive Player of the Year, she was second in the nation in blocks with 153 total in 32 games, nearly five per game.

Kirkwood's Paige Bradford was also recognized on Second Team. Bradford was the leading scorer for the Eagles at 14.1 points per game as well as the team's leading rebounder at 7.3 per contest. Bradford had the second-highest field goal percentage in the country at 61.6 percent.
