Kirkwood Athletes Shine in the Classroom
Cedar Rapids, IA- "The Academic All-Region lists for the Fall 2025 semester were announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference on Thursday.
The start of the new year marks a time of recognition for student-athletes' accomplishments off the field and in the classroom. After the first semester over 2,700 have been recognized for their academic achievements this season. Over 1,700 were awarded First Team All-Academic, and nearly 1,000 earned Second Team All-Academic.

Region 11 Academic All-Region Qualifications
- Every sport is recognized each semester.
- 3.5-4.0 - First Team
- 3.0-3.49 - Second Team
- Minimum # of Credit Hours needed to be eligible for NJCAA.
- Cumulative or Semester, whichever is higher.
Kirkwood Student-Athletes have a lot to be proud of for this past semester. Combined, Kirkwood Student-Athletes had a 3.42 cumuluative GPA. 83% of Kirkwood Student-Athletes were Academic All-Region and 24 of those student athletes boasted a 4.0 GPA. The Kirkwood Golf Team led the way in the classroom amongst all sports, posting a 3.8 GPA this past semester.
