Eagles Soar Past Lakers in ICCAC Home Win
Cedar Rapids, IA- The #18 Kirkwood Men's Basketball team delivered a statement performance Wednesday night, rolling past Iowa Lakes 92–67 in an ICCAC showdown inside Johnson Hall. The Eagles set the tone early and never looked back, combining efficient offense with relentless pressure to secure the convincing home victory.
Kirkwood exploded out of the gate, scoring 51 first-half points while shooting over 51 percent from the floor. The Eagles consistently attacked the paint and capitalized on Iowa Lakes turnovers, building a double-digit halftime advantage and putting the Lakers on their heels early.
Manasse Kasongo led the way with a dominant all-around performance, pouring in 27 points on an efficient 11-of-15 shooting while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out four assists. Ben Bockman added 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting, knocking down three triples, while Grayson Wollum chipped in 15 points to give Kirkwood multiple scoring threats throughout the night.
The Eagles continued to build separation in the second half, outscoring Iowa Lakes 41–30 behind sharp perimeter shooting and balanced contributions off the bench. Kirkwood finished the night shooting 54 percent from the field and piled up 27 assists on 34 made baskets, showcasing crisp ball movement and offensive balance. Defensively, the Eagles turned 16 Iowa Lakes turnovers into 23 points, further swinging momentum in their favor.
