Kirkwood Men's Basketball Ranked #1 in Preseason Poll

Today, the NJCAA released their Division II Preseason Men's Basketball Poll and the Kirkwood men's basketball team found themselves in the top spot.

Kirkwood, the defending national champions, received 5 first place votes and were followed in the rankings by Triton (1), South Suburban, and Essex County (2).

The Eagles return seven players from last year's championship team, highlighted by point guard Byron Harp, who was named to the NJCAA National Tournament All-Tournament team, and forward Da'Rion King, who averaged 8.5 ppg and 4 rpg. Other returners include Kaliph Fagan, Al'Tavius Jackson, Shakur Triplett, Elijah Henry, and redshirt Chris King.

The Eagles will open up their season at the Indian Hills Classic on November 4th-5th.
