#3 Kirkwood Opens With a Ranked Win
The #3 Kirkwood Eagles open the 2025-26 season with a top-ten-ranked win. #3 Eagles take game one against the #10 North Central Missouri Pirates on the road. The contest started all Kirkwood as the Eagles jumped out to an early 22-10 lead to finish the first quarter. Scoring stayed steady and even between the two teams in the second quarter, limiting both teams to 10 points apiece in the quarter. After a hot start to the second half, the Eagles stayed in control to finish the game with a 70-51 win.
The Eagles were led by sophomore Oliva Wren, who started her sophomore campaign with a career night, finishing with 28 points. Wren shot 9-10 from the field, a perfect 6-6 from the 3-point line. A career high for Wren in both points in a game and three pointers made in a game. Following behind Wren were freshmen Kaci Crum and Erianna Moeschter, who both chipped in 8 points in their first collegiate action.
The #3 Kirkwood Eagles travel to East Peoria, Saturday November 8th, to take on the #5 Illinois Central Cougars. Tip-off is set for 1:00pm.
