Eagles Make Statement in ICCAC Showdown with Iowa Lakes

Cedar Rapids, IA- The #3 Kirkwood Eagles Women's Basketball Team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday evening inside Johnson Hall, overpowering #16 Iowa Lakes 67–28 in a clash of unbeaten ICCAC teams. With first place in the conference on the line, Kirkwood responded with one of its most complete efforts of the season.

The Eagles set the tone early with aggressive defense and efficient offense, jumping out to a 15–10 lead after the first quarter. That momentum only grew in the second, as Kirkwood continued to disrupt Iowa Lakes offensively while steadily extending the margin. By halftime, the Eagles had built a 34–22 advantage and firmly controlled the flow of the game.

Any hopes of a Lakers comeback were erased coming out of the locker room. Kirkwood erupted for 23 points in the third quarter while holding Iowa Lakes to just two, turning a competitive contest into a runaway. The Eagles shot nearly 60 percent from the field in the period, forcing turnovers and converting them into points on the other end to put the game out of reach.

Erianna Moeschter led the way offensively with a game-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while Kaci Crum added 11 points on an efficient 4-of-5 performance. Molly Roling contributed nine points and was perfect from the free-throw line, and Kirkwood's depth was on full display as the bench poured in 27 points. The Eagles also shared the ball well, finishing with 18 assists on 21 made field goals.

Defensively, Kirkwood was relentless from start to finish. The Eagles held Iowa Lakes to just 20.8 percent shooting for the game and forced 20 turnovers, allowing only six total points in the second half. The 28 points surrendered marked one of the strongest defensive performances of the season.
