#5 Kirkwood Earns Road Win at #14 Iowa Lakes, 68–31
Estherville, IA- The #5 Kirkwood Women's Basketball Team picked up a decisive ICCAC road win on Wednesday, traveling to Estherville, IA and defeating the #14 Iowa Lakes Lakers 68–31 in a matchup featuring two teams with just one loss entering the night.
Kirkwood set the tone early and never looked back, building a 16–11 lead after the first quarter before exploding offensively in the second. The Eagles poured in 26 points in the period while holding Iowa Lakes to 11, taking a commanding 42–22 advantage into halftime. From there, the Eagles' defensive pressure completely shut the door, limiting the Lakers to just nine points total over the final two quarters.
The numbers told the story of Kirkwood's dominance. The Eagles shot 49 percent from the field and an impressive 38.1 percent from three-point range, while holding Iowa Lakes to just 25 percent shooting and a scoreless night from beyond the arc. Kirkwood also controlled the glass with a 32–22 rebounding edge and forced 15 Iowa Lakes turnovers, consistently turning defense into offense.
Several Eagles turned in standout performances. Erianna Moeschter led the way with 11 points, while Dasia Foster added 10 on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting performance. Madison Stowater provided a spark off the bench with 12 points in just eight minutes, knocking down two three-pointers. Claire Hudson connected on three shots from deep on her way to nine points, and Amari Ogleton chipped in six points and a team-high eight rebounds. Kennedy Blakely directed the offense with five assists to go along with six points.
Defensively, the Eagles were relentless, holding Iowa Lakes to single digits in three of the four quarters and just four points in the third period. The dominant road win served as a clear statement as conference play tightens and postseason positioning comes into focus.
